        As the Mediterranean breeze moves across white coastlines and lemon groves, trembling branches cast shifting shadows — a quiet language of light and time.

This project begins with an attention to the wind — the sensation of it against the skin, or the subtle movement it leaves on fabric and foliage.

The wind itself remains invisible, impossible to grasp directly, yet its presence unfolds through small displacements: leaves stirring, dust lifting, light breaking across surfaces.

What the wind touches begins to shift.

It passes through landscapes, across seasons, and into daily life, shaping gestures, rhythms, and ways of inhabiting space. Following these traces, the work moves through different regions of the Iberian Peninsula, observing people, their surroundings, and the quiet interplay between environment and habit.

The images do not attempt to fix the wind, but remain with its passing — attending to what appears, moves, and slowly fades.

The images move around this condition — where perception begins to loosen, and time no longer holds its shape.

Moving between reality, memory, and daydream, moments do not settle into fixed forms, but overlap, return, and gradually disperse.

What appears is not a continuous narrative, but a series of intervals — brief suspensions in which light, sensation, and thought converge.

The images remain close to these intervals, allowing time to slow, hesitate, and extend beyond its usual measure.

Forests have stayed with me since photography first took hold of my attention. In late 2023, a journey from Spain into northern Portugal led me to Mata da Albergaria — a dense, ancient forest, where something long imagined seemed, unexpectedly, to take form.
The first encounter happened from within the car. The forest appeared in fragments: trunks, shadows, brief openings between branches. 
Everything moved past too quickly to fully register, as if the place resisted being seen all at once.

Returning on foot at dusk, something shifted. The forest became closer, more continuous — light settling across leaves, moisture in the air, the ground responding to each step. Small sounds emerged gradually: branches breaking underfoot, distant water, wind moving through the canopy.

Here, perception no longer follows a single direction. It accumulates — in roots, in growth, in decay, in the slow persistence of the landscape itself. The images do not attempt to describe the forest, but remain with it, tracing a condition where attention slows and begins to disperse.

In this space, the distance from constructed environments becomes perceptible, giving way to a quieter and more sustained form of attention.

	洄溯 (huísù) nombró en su origen algo físico: ir corriente arriba, contracorriente, hacia el nacimiento de un río. En el Shijing, la colección más antigua de poesía china, describía una búsqueda larga e incierta, un camino de retroceso cuya vía es larga. Con el tiempo la palabra se amplió como metáfora: mirar atrás, remontarse a un origen, recordar lo que ya ha pasado.

Después de revelar rollos de película, durante años he sostenido los negativos frente a una caja de luz, un hábito que empezó mucho antes de que pensara en él como un proyecto. En su forma incompleta y silueteada, algo me sorprende brevemente, y la escena que tengo en las manos rara vez coincide con la que recuerdo. Este encuentro entre los momentos que ya llevo en la cabeza y el negativo que tengo delante se ha mantenido como un pequeño y conmovedor ritual de interacción visual y memoria, uno que todavía me toma por sorpresa. Una cámara digital de formato medio, usada en las imágenes más recientes, continúa el mismo hábito por otros medios.

Cada fotografía aquí no está simplemente invertida, sino reelaborada: la luz se empuja hacia los espacios que antes eran sombra, y el color se reconstruye en capas cercanas a las que estudié en la pintura paisajista de la dinastía Song, donde la distancia se sugiere mediante una atmósfera cambiante en vez de dibujarse directamente. Lo que queda permanece deliberadamente inacabado, para que la memoria, sea de quien sea, pueda completarlo.

Un vídeo que acompaña el proyecto, Cuatro Sintonías, lleva esta misma búsqueda a través de cuatro movimientos, cada uno nombrado a partir de un cí clásico chino, una forma poética escrita antiguamente sobre una melodía fija, aquí musicalizada con una partitura original.

Vuelvo a estos paisajes como se vuelve, contra toda razón, a una persona o un lugar que ya no está al alcance: no por la belleza del recuerdo, sino porque el propio regreso se ha vuelto imposible de detener.

Este trabajo busca formas de expresión contenidas entre lo lírico y lo cotidiano, situándose entre sensibilidades de tradición oriental y occidental. A través de la imagen de la mano, el tiempo no se representa de manera directa, sino que se deja percibir en sus huellas.

Por un lado, actúa como una fuerza imperceptible que empuja todo hacia adelante; por otro, se inscribe lentamente en la superficie de la piel — en las manos de una mujer anciana, donde años de vida se acumulan sin interrupción.

A lo largo del día, desde las primeras horas de la mañana hasta la noche, cuando la luz se retira, los gestos se repiten de forma casi imperceptible. Las manos no retienen lo que pasa, pero registran su tránsito. En ellas, el tiempo no se muestra como una abstracción, sino como una presencia continua, que se deposita, se desplaza y permanece.

"Scene arouses emotion, emotion reflects scene.'Chinese culture has a tendency to divide the world into two parts, "abstract" and "concrete". &#38;nbsp;The scene is concrete, while human emotion is abstract; they exist in their opposition. The scenery expresses human emotion, whereas emotions overlap in possession of the scenery. This kind of status can be interpreted as: "while people are appreciating natural scenery, the concrete scene overlaps with abstract human emotions, both of which coexist harmoniously." Such a view is built on the contrasting situation, in which the scenery itself cannot perceive, yet it may shake the sensitive nerve of human nature all the time. &#38;nbsp; Becoming aware of the existing subtleness in nature, I have been deeply attached to it ever since our first acquaintance. All quiet spirits, including natural elements, have emotional catharsis. The moment I press the shutter, &#38;nbsp;the beautiful scenery of trees and flowers was formed, meanwhile unlimited feelings were captured. There’s no need to dwell, let the images speak.
